Value Added Tax (VAT)

The Inland Revenue and Customs and Excise have now joined forces, rebranding themselves as Her Majesty’s Customs and Revenue. This means information gathered by one department is immediately shared with all other departments. Since their brief is to collect as much unpaid tax as possible, they are increasing the number of compliance visits and investigations, and the onus is upon you to prove that you don’t owe any additional tax.
